I am by no means at all skilled in
the area of photography but have always been one to enjoy capturing moments in
time. I have thousands and thousands of images I have taken since I was
about fifteen however have never really had the right equipment to nurture my
passion for photography, and of course it has taken a back seat to my love of
baking.
That was until my partner spoilt
me for my birthday last year and bought me a SLR camera. I use is a Cannon
1000D SLR camera. It is 10.1 megapixels and has really good battery life
(I think I have only charged it three times).
It is simple to use and has a very quick start up time and is
solid.
In terms of learning, I have not had
the time to participate in a photography course and at this point it remains on
my personal motivation board of (Things I would like to do, learn and achieve
for me) however have tried to read up as much as possible about it. I have looked at sights such as the Digital Photography School
which is like the encyclopaedia of photography information! Topics such as technique, equipment,
processing and editing are featured on this sight and there are also forums if
you have questions.
I also get a lot of inspiration from wonderful
local photographers like Oiduts Photography, challenges such as Project 365, and images shared via Instagram (emazingly_sweet).
Of course photography is so much
easier these days with phones capable of capturing high quality pictures on the
run and apps available to edit photo's all linked in to one. However, I still
love the feeling of holding a camera and the noise associated with the moment
in which each shot is captured and instilled in time.
With the motivation of emazingly
sweet behind me you will see a lot of my practice is coming from photographing and
sharing images of my baking with you all.
Hopefully my pictures of food inspire you and make your life
sweeter.
